About Me

Meet Amanda Garcia, new to Paso Verde School but long serving with NUSD. Ms. Garcia originated from Sacramento; although she moved throughout her childhood years she continues to hold Antelope Meadows Elementary dear to her heart as her favorite school. Coming from a long line of educators, her mother a teacher and grandmother an English professor, Ms.Garcia has a deep-seated passion for education.

While intrinsically compelled to follow her passion in education, Ms. Garcia did not start there. She initially pursued a career in television news where she produced Good Day Sacramento and CBS 5am and 6am news. She quickly discovered that she was not fulfilled in her work and made the move from journalism to education.

What brought Ms. Garcia to PVS? The structure of Paso Verde School utilizing the IB framework combined with STEAM synchronized her Montessori experience and teaching style. Ms. Garcia is looking forward to watching her students grow throughout their time here at PVS through 8th grade.

What is her proud moment? Witnessing the moment scholars achieve a specific skill they have been working on and experience success and feeling proud of what they accomplished.

I bet you didn’t know:  Ms. Garcia was a competitive gymnast and can still perform tumbling routines!
