About Me

(For detailed information and updates about current classes, please visit my website by clicking here.)

Hello! My name is Annie Jones, and I am thrilled to be entering my 14th year of teaching English at NP3 High School. In this role I have the privilege of guiding students to explore and examine the ways we as human beings communicate with each other, and the commonalities that tie us all together. Through closely reading novels, exploring current events, examining the writings of great thinkers, and sharing our own insights and revelations, my students and I are challenged to exercise our critical thinking skills, while ever reaching towards greater clarity and insight in our writing and speaking.

My journey here began in the San Francisco Bay Area where I was born and raised in a home full of books and musical instruments. After graduating from the California State University system with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, I spent several years making and teaching music and history in private educational systems. Having fallen in love with the craft of teaching, I eventually returned to school, earning a Master's Degree in Education and a California State teaching credential.

Living about 30  miles north of the NP3 campus, I am blessed to share my daily commute with my husband, Rob, who also teaches at NP3. We enjoy our small town life with our 19 year old son, two crazy dogs, and an ambivalent cat.
