About Me

My name is Kathryn Casazza (pronounced like “pizza”), and I just earned my teaching credential and masters degree from UC Davis. I received my undergraduate degree from UC Davis as well, with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Education. A few less formal facts about me are that I love sharks, I have two cats, and that I absolutely love soccer. I've played soccer since I was four years old, and I loved coaching soccer at a middle school last year. Formerly an FC Barcelona fan and currently an AS Roma fan, I love to watch soccer, and I enjoy discussing soccer with fellow fans.

My former students always asked me why I wanted to be a teacher. My answer was simple; I want to help kids. There is nothing more important to me than making sure that my students know that someone believes in them and helping them believe that they matter. I think that the advantage of working with young students is that I can work on preventing them from becoming a part of the vicious cycles of poverty, violence, and bullying. I also want to help students recognize diversity as a strength and to help students create a safe learning environment for themselves. I'm excited to teach and to learn from a new group of students this year, and I am so grateful to be a part of the incredible Natomas Park Elementary team! Go Coyotes!
