About Me

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me!

Although this is my seventh year teaching at NP3 Middle School, I have over 18 years teaching experience at the secondary level, including college instruction as well.  I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and went to college at the University of CA, Santa Barbara.  I have a Master’s degree in Education as well as a Master’s in Sociology.  My Master’s research and thesis focused on how parental involvement affects the academic achievement and self-esteem of students at the secondary level.

My 9 year old daughter Jenna is absolutely amazing and blesses my life every day with her genuine spirit, love, and wisdom!  Additionally, as of September 1st last year, Jenna and I opened our home and hearts to welcome 9 year old Serenity to our family.  We are honored to permanently adopt her on August 13, 2018!  She is an incredible girl whose positive energy, resiliency, and huge heart make her easy to love!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my extended family during weekend adventures and getaways.  We especially love Tahoe, Santa Cruz, and Fisherman's Wharf for local trips.  We are a very active household with fall, spring, and summer softball.  We also squeeze in basketball, water sports, boating, snowboarding, hiking, and ropes courses when we can.  Camping is a must as we LOVE boating and campfires!  We also love to travel as much as possible and usually fly out for new adventures during both fall and spring breaks.

I look forward to a wonderful year with my students and helping each one root themselves in the 7 habits to grow the leader within!
