Assistant Supt. Heather Garcia appeared on Good Day Sacramento recently to discuss NUSD’s International Baccalaureate program.

IB is a world-renowned academic program that emphasizes the following 10 “Learner Profiles”: IB strives to make students Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced and Reflective. 

NUSD’s was the first school district in Sacramento County to offer a continuum of IB-related classes from Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade.

IB’s Primary Years Programme for elementary school students is offered at H. Allen Hight Elementary School, the Middle Years Programme for 6th– through 10th-graders is offered at Natomas Middle School and Inderkum High School; and the Diploma Programme for 11th-and 12th-graders is offered at Inderkum. Paso Verde currently is working to become an IB World School as well.
