Weekly Homework

Please look for the red Communication/Homework folder on Fridays. It goes home on Friday so that you can work on it over the weekend if your weeknights are too full. Homework consists of a single page front and back of the letter of the week sheet and 5 math pages to review weekly topic. It will help provide your one-on-one support for needed skills, such as 3 star coloring and cutting. (Holding pencils with tri-tip grip and scissors with thumb up and using steering hand. I also recommend having your child practice identifying the letters in their name and writing it with capital and lowercase letters. If they can do this, then add their last name. They should be writing it on every paper first thing. You should also read about 20 minutes a night and ask questions about the book to build comprehension and vocabulary. Talk about the characters and what happens throughout the story. See if your student can retell what happened in the book. The most important thing for your scholar to succeed in school is their social emotional skills. So, please go over the activities from the Second Step Newsletter that goes home to continue to support all the skills they will need for the rest of their school career. Please also clean out your scholars backpack and folder weekly!
