Here are a few simple things you can start doing today to get your students ready for the new Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) test on the Google Chromebooks:
- Develop a Chromebook distribution routine with your students
- Carry with two hands
- Login with username/password

- Familiarize students with the online testing environment
- Writing and keyboarding: Use Google Documents to do journaling and use a typing tutorial (such as TypingClub) to practice with the keyboard
- Math: Try online practice apps
- Manipulatives: Have students use Google Drawing to explore and become comfortable with different online tools
- Become familiar with the SBAC Practice Test
- Teachers should try the Practice Test from a Chromebook or any computer and play with all the tools available
- Designate time for students to do the practice test in class
- Give students time to provide feedback on the practice test, identify gaps in skills, and dedicate additional practice to those skills
