Map Network Drives – MAC

 

How to Access Your Network drives on a MacBook

Step 1

Select “Go” from the Finder menu (top left side of screen)).

Step 2

Select “Connect to Server”

(You should see the Connect to Server box)

Tip: using the hotkey combination “command+k” from the desktop will get you to step 3 without step 2.

Step 3

In the Server Address type the one of the following (Depends on which share you are accessing):

Drive

Path to Network Share

H: (Home)

smb://nusdstorage.natomas.usd/home$

T: (Teacher)

smb://nusdstorage.natomas.usd/ale teacher$

S: (Student)

smb://nusdstorage.natomas.usd/ihs student$

Q: (District)

smb://nusdstorage.natomas.usd/district$

X: (Shares)

smb://nusdstorage.natomas.usd/shares$

Note: It is very critical that “nusd” is in front of storage or it will not work

Step 4

Once you’ve input the address. Click the “+” to add it to Favorite Servers then click “Connect”

* If You see this window, please put your username and password *

(The password is the one you use to login to your MacBook/PC)

Check “Remember this password in my keychain” and click “Connect” and your network drives should open. The share drive/s should also appear on your desktop.

NOTE: If you get to this point and you are still having issues connecting to the share.

Please open a work order/ticket and we will further look into the issue.

How to Keep Your Shares from Disconnecting after it’s been added

Click on  “System preferences” in the docking bar

CLick “Users and groups”

Click “Login Items”  (on top next to password #3)

(drag the shares from your desktop into the login items box)
