Infinite Campus Messenger provides teachers with an easy to use tool to communicate with students and guardians on classwork, attendance, grades and other events or happenings in the classroom. Effective use of this tool requires teachers to monitor and control their own content; however, the district has established basic guidelines for it’s use.
Basic Guidelines
- Messenger is a tool teachers can use to communicate important school related projects and programs and should be limited to such content only.
- Ensure content is accurate and free of spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors
- Student names and/or pictures should not be included in Messenger messages. These messages are meant to be sent in bulk to multiple users and should not include student’s names except if automatically added as part of Grades or Missing Assignments Messenger which is sent to constituents based on criteria for that message.
- Use caution when including outside content in your messages. Clip-Art or photos that are copyright protected should not be used. In addition, do not misrepresent others’ ideas, writings, photographs, production or creation as your own in your messages.
- Do not allow other staff to send messages under your IC login through Messenger.
- Designs should be simple, clean, and professional.
- Keep your messages easy to read. Font should be simple, without curls, complicated serifs, or excessive use of color (do not use colored fonts to distinguish individual pieces of information or events).
