As we promised, we have been and will continue to monitor the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) day-to-day, and throughout each day. Clearly, the events regarding COVID-19 seem to be materializing hour by hour. Earlier today, all of the Sacramento County leaders of 13 school districts met with the Sacramento County Public Health (SCPH) and the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) to discuss changes to how Sacramento County will continue to address this virus. We have been told to expect California to roll out tomorrow morning a series of communications and protocols for across the state. Earlier this week we shared with you that, as this continues to develop, it is possible that we may need to take an extended weekend. Schools will continue to be open as of Thursday, March 12. We ask that you please continue with contingency planning for the extended weekend, and the real possibility that school/district closures may be necessary depending on the guidance we get from California, SCPH, SCOE and/or our own determination of what is best for our students and staff. We’ll continue to communicate with you daily if need be, and be transparent about our ongoing collaboration with state, local, and county officials.
