About Me

Originally from the east coast, I grew-up in Maine and graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Rutgers University in New Jersey. I have been a secondary English teacher since 2002 when I started at M.S. 80 Isobel Rooney Middle School in Bronx, New York while completing my Masters of the Arts in Secondary English Education at New York University's Steinhardt School of Education. Upon moving to California in 2004,  I taught in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District for a couple of years before taking a position at The Performing and Fine Arts Academy at Natomas Charter School, where I taught American Literature. I took a short break from teaching to be a stay-at-home mom, but quickly returned to the classroom on a part time basis, here at NP3. This will be my eighth year teaching at NP3. When I'm not teaching my classes, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three young children, Hannah (9), Aaron (7), and Adelaide (3).
