Natomas Unified Families and Staff,
A few brief notes to keep you all in the loop.
Elementary Grades PreK-6th (self-contained)
- NUSD received official approval from Sacramento County Public Health to reopen PreK-6th (self-contained). This means our safety plan was approved.
- Next Tuesday and Wednesday are what we are calling our soft opening. They are NOT mandatory in-person days but brief opportunities for students to get oriented to entering school, exiting school, bathroom access, and generally moving outside of the classroom. Teachers will remain with Distance Learning students all week. Other staff will be with students Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Your principal should have sent you your Cohort information if you are a part of the group returning in-person. If you have not received which Cohort you are a part of, contact your school office first, and if needed, Constituent and Customer Service.
- March 1st – PreK-2nd grade in-person students return.
- March 8th – 3rd-6th (self-contained) in-person students return.
Middle School Grades:
- Five (5) days after Sacramento County has been in the Red Tier and Cohorts will begin. More information will follow in the next 2 weeks regarding secondary cohorts.
High School Grades:
- Five (5) days after Sacramento County has been in the Red Tier and Cohorts will begin. More information will follow in the next 2 weeks regarding secondary cohorts.
- We are anticipating more clarification on athletics from the state very soon. If the state allows more sports to begin, we will let you know and likely use Rapid COVID tests to better protect student-athletes and coaches.
- We know many families want more information on Graduation Ceremonies. While major facilities like Golden 1 will not be available, we are considering a variety of options and are waiting to see where Sacramento County and COVID is these next few weeks.
Vaccinations:
- Today was a mass vaccination day for NUSD staff, and we expect all interested NUSD staff to have had access to the first vaccination shot within another week or two.
