August 2021
Dear Two Rivers Families,
I am excited to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year at Two Rivers Elementary School! I have been so proud of the flexibility and resilience our community has shown over the last year, and how much we have all grown together. We have some new faces here at Two Rivers; please join me in welcoming our new staff!
The students, staff, and families of Two Rivers Elementary are members of a community in which all strive to support student growth in all domains: academic, social-emotional, and physical development. This community supports and cares for each other as we prepare students for college and career and aspire to the highest levels of achievement. We are continuing to implement AVID schoolwide. AVID’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Through AVID Elementary, students will develop the academic habits they will need to be successful in middle school, high school, and college, in an age-appropriate and challenging way. Our students will learn more about organization, study skills, communication, and self-advocacy. More information will be coming during the first days of school about the strategies and skills our students will be learning!
Two Rivers welcomes all of our families to participate in our students’ education! There are several ways to become involved in the Two Rivers community. Throughout the year, we will be providing you with information on our school website, in teacher newsletters, calendars, email newsletters, and with Infinite Campus phone calls, texts, and emails. You may also access the Infinite Campus Parent Portal from our school website.
I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming year and welcoming our students back to campus. The first day of school for students is Thursday, August 12th. School begins each day at 7:45am for all students. Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten dismissal time is 1:38pm, while 1st-5th grades will dismiss at 1:55pm. Traffic is always more congested during the first weeks of school. We are striving to lessen the impact of traffic in and around our school during drop off and pick up. Thank you in advance for cooperating with our staff in keeping all of our students and parents safe during these high traffic periods.
I am so proud to be your principal and look forward to a successful school year together. If you have any questions about our school, programs, or expectations, please don’t hesitate to contact us or visit our website.
Sincerely,
Colleen Perry
Principal
