Effective Sept. 1: USDA Extends Free Meals to Anyone 18 and Under

Effective September 1, 2020, following USDA waivers, breakfast and lunch will be available for free to anyone 18 and under. No paperwork is required. Supper and Snack is available for free for sites that qualify.

Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and Snack weekend and holiday meals will be available for pickup at Friday distributions. Based on current USDA waivers, students and parents (on their student(s) behalf) can pick up meals at any NUSD Mobile Meal Service location. Distribution times will be from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the following locations:

American Lakes 
Bannon Creek 
Jefferson 
Two Rivers
Leroy Greene 
Natomas High 
Natomas Charter 
Natomas STAR
Natomas Park 
Heron 
Natomas Middle/ H. Allen Hight 
Inderkum High 
Witter Ranch 
Westlake Charter 
Paso Verde/NP3 

Later Afternoon pickups  are available from 5-6 p.m. and have been strategically placed throughout the district at the following 5 locations in order to provide an option in each general region:

Two Rivers
Bannon Creek
Natomas Middle/ H. Allen High
Natomas High 
Paso Verde/ NP3 

These meals are offered to families at no charge and no paperwork is needed. Children do not have to be present but the parent/guardian can bring the following verification:

  • Official letter/email from the children’s school that shows children as enrolled
  • Individual student report card
  • Attendance record from the Parent Portal
  • Birth Certificate for children not in school
  • Student ID Cards
