About Me

My name is Emily Whalen, and I am very excited for my second year of teaching at Jefferson School.

I graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors in Sociology. I then went on to get my teaching credential at Sac State which included student teaching at Jefferson two years ago in the 4th grade under Mary Rimbey.

Some of my interests include hiking, animals, travelling, and scuba diving! I have a dog named Otter who I hike with often. Lastly, I used to work at SeaWorld San Diego on the animal rescue team and trained dolphins for the Navy.

There is so much I am looking forward to teaching in the 5th grade! Some of the topics we study in 5th Grade are multiplication and division, matter and elements, short answer responses, and Westward Expansion and colonies. I look forward to seeing you around campus!
