Dozens of students to benefit from generosity of Walgreens and its customers

Dozens of Natomas Unified students will benefit from the kindness of customers at the Walgreens store on Del Paso Road.

Pencils, pens, paper, notepads, folders, glue sticks, binders, erasers, marking pens and numerous other school supplies filled 13 boxes that were dropped off at the Ed Center last week. The items were being divided today by Brent Johnson, an NUSD administrator, for distribution to local campuses to disburse as they see fit.

“We love to do it, we’ve been doing it now for three years,” said Josh Korsen, manager of the Walgreens at Del Paso and El Centro roads.

More than 2,000 Walgreens customers donated to the school supply campaign over a three-week period, said Korsen, who said the store also has assisted Inderkum and Natomas high schools by donating bottled water and snack bar items in the past.

“I hope we can help the students,” Korsen said.
