NUSD Families,

The end of the school year has officially come to a close, and now we are just days away from Our Transitional Summer where many of our students will be involved in a variety of summer programs. We are excited to be able to offer programs that will help students recover from learning disruption, prepare for their next grade level, connect with their peers, and simply to just have fun. To learn more about the options that may still be available, click here

As a reminder, our safety precautions will continue to be in place as we are still required to follow the guidelines under the California Department of Health (CDPH). Even with California loosening restrictions on June 15, school districts are still required to follow the current guidance set forth for schools until further notice. This means students will continue to wear masks/face coverings, keep distance, follow directional areas, and other protocols listed in the plan that can be found here and on our website.

We do anticipate the Center for Disease and Control (CDC) to release updated schools guidance this summer, and CDPH to follow suit when that happens. As soon as we learn of the changes, we will inform our families. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Constituent and Customer Service at [email protected] or by phone at (916) 561-5253.

In addition, this fall we will be reopening in a traditional setting, as distance learning has not been approved by the state to continue beyond June 30, 2021. For families who may have determined a less traditional educational option is most appropriate for their student, we have our new Larry G. Meeks Academy (K-8), with 9-12 options available as well. This includes allowing students to receive instruction in a hybrid environment utilizing largely virtual platforms with flexibility in their daily schedule. Enrollment is open now.
